The Things We Do For Love

It happens at the oddest times.

When I’m doing something simple, mundane…. like putting quarters in a parking meter, or washing dishes, or making black truffle risotto. Suddenly, my breath catches in my chest. I look around. And I think…

“How did this happen?
Is this really my life now?
What the hell am I doing here…
in Kingston, New York?”

And then, I remember.

It was Love that grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and dragged me across the country from sunny California to the frigid northeast. And it’s Love that keeps me here.

So, on Thursday, March 27, I’m celebrating and commemorating the things we do for love (as well as my 5-year anniversary as a New Yorker) by joining some of the most talented jazz musicians I know and singing my ever-lovin’ California heart out.

Please come and join the fun.
I would so love to see your sweet and shining face!

at Stockade Tavern’s Speakeasy Jazz Series
Thursday, March 27
7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Stockade Tavern
313 Fair Street, Kingston, NY

I’ll be singing a brand new set of songs… songs I’ve never performed on this side of the country. Heartbreaking ballads, swinging standards and some little known popular songs from back in the day.

Plus… there will be some AMAZING special guest artists sitting in with me, like my buddy, the brilliant jazz guitarist, Ken McGloin, and the dreamy George De Leon on tenor sax (I so love the way he plays!) and possibly, just possibly, Jeff Siegel on drums.

By the way, exactly 5 years ago on March 27, I hopped a plane and moved to Kingston, New York, to live and love.

So, come help me celebrate my New York anniversary, will you? There won’t be cake but there will be THE most delicious cocktails you’ve ever sipped, exceptionally warm and friendly folks, and the best jazz in town.

See you there!

Lots of Love,

P.S. What kind of crazy things have you done for Love? I’d love to know. Just leave a comment below and share your story.
